Zidicircle provides a unique opportunity to help Diaspora entrepreneurs get access to finance at an affordable price and in the process help global investors earn interest rates that are above market return, which usually exceed returns if keeping idle cash.
Some of our entrepreneurs are not only expanding their businesses and aiding economic development, but also, improving the lives of their personnel, and personnel’s households and standards of living. Making the outcome beneficial to us all.
How much Can you invest?
At the moment all our investors are professional investors categorised as high net worth individuals and companies/institutions/groups that can invest starting with €100,000. You can choose a project according to your sector affiliation.
What type of businesses can you invest in?
You can invest in impact businesses from sectors such as Food & Agri, Sustainable manufacturing, renewables and Tech solutions for Social needs. We ensure that these businesses meet the criteria of sustainable businesses, from our due diligence.
Focusing on businesses that have promising turnover but also which are playing a major part in contributing to social economic conditions in their country such as poverty eradication and employment creation.
What is the rate of return on your investment?
Although we try to help local businesses achieve their potential, we understand that you expect your investment back with a return. So, it depends on a project’s risk profile and loan amount and tenor, but usually, you can earn an interest rate of between 5% – 8% p.a. This is disclosed on the project page before you invest.
To enable us facilitate the investment process, we earn an administration fee per project to cater for the origination and portfolio management. We do not impose any other changes to the local business to make the financing affordable. We believe this model is a win-win solution to the three parties.
How risky are our listed Projects?
All the listed projects on Zidi Circle have been thoroughly screened with high level due diligence and KYC criteria, to minimize default risk. Most businesses have provided a collateral in the event that a default happens. We also attempt to secure insurance for these funds, where we will update our investors of our success.
It is important to note that despite our efforts we cannot guarantee zero default risk, which is why we ask you to diversify your investment portfolio by lending to different projects to manage your risk.
How are the funds you provide disbursed?
At the moment investors can pay through IDEAL. We have integrated stripe with Ideal for easier payment, and we are in talks with long term payment solution provide
Once you make the payment it is held in the investor custodial account at out investment manager Guideplus, before being transferred to the business being funded. This is how the regulator requires that we separate the investors funds from our own operational funds.
The monthly interest payments will be collected and paid to your bank account as per the agreements.
Are we regulated?
We take regulation and compliance very seriously. Our investments are managed by Guideplus Sustainable investment Fonds license by the AFM. That means we comply with the dutch Financial Markets Authority and the Dutch Central Bank.
