Green Venture Backers Programme
Zidicircle partnered with The Netherlands Development Organisation (SNV) in Ghana to run the Green Venture Backers Programme whose aims was to equip investors in Ghana and the diaspora seeking to invest in Ghana’s green economy with the knowledge and skills to start investing in green SMEs in the Ashanti and Western regions.
- 40 diaspora angel investors were trained
- 52 Ghanaian SME’s pitched to the trained investors
- 40 green businesses are going through due diligence
- 1 business has been fund
Diaspora-Kenya GrEEN SME’s Match Making Forum
The programme aimed to create a platform for Kenyan green startups and the diaspora to connect and collaborate. By leveraging the expertise and networks within the diaspora community, the initiative focused on supporting sustainable growth, fostering innovation, providing mentorship, and expanding market opportunities for green enterprises in Kenya.
-24 SME’s in Kenya were matched to a pool of over 60 diaspora entrepreneurs/professionals
-As a result, 10 major partnerships with entry to markets, co-founders and advisors were formed
O-REMIT Angel Investing Training
The O-REMIT project aims to equip members of the Moroccan, Senegalese, and Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) diaspora communities residing in Belgium with the skills and knowledge to become angel investors in their home countries.
- 30 SMEs matched and funded
- 60 diaspora angel investors trained
Entrepreneurship by Diaspora for Development ( ED4D )
The ED4D project aimed at encouraging the Ghanaian and Ethiopian diasporas residing in the Netherlands, or Dutch entrepreneurs in partnership with the diaspora, to engage themselves as entrepreneurs for the development of the private sector in Ghana and Ethiopia.
We Incubated about 40 entrepreneurs who benefited from business training followed by a pitch competition and a 4 months on mentorship from PUM experts . Also, guidance was provided for potential funding mechanisms.
Diaspora-Ghana’s GrEEN SME’s Match Making Forum
The aim of this programme was to provide a platform for the Diaspora and green startups incubated under SNV’s GrEEn project to network with each other and explore areas of working together as business partners, team members, mentors, global markets entry focal points or investors
- Over 70 green entrepreneurs from Ghana attended the program
- Entrepreneurs got a chance to network and collaborate with the diaspora.
- SMEs met a pool of 95 diaspora entrepreneurs/professional
- Virtual programme facilitated connections and partnerships.
Diaspora Entrepreneurship Bootcamp in Germany
Zidicircle, in partnership with Deutsch Connect and AG Career Hub, launches a diaspora entrepreneurship bootcamp and incubation programme in Germany, offering migrants and under-represented founders training, mentorship, funding, and global networking opportunities to support business development both locally and internationally.
