ANGEL INVESTOR TRAINING
Investor's Fellowship Program
ZIDI Angel Investor Fellowship is a 6 to 12 weeks cohort programme which trains aspiring angel investors. The training is offered in different formats. Aspiring investors can join the self paced training and learn at their own time but also get a chance to learn from other investors during the meetups or due diligence committee meetings. The Generalist stream and Thematic streams are offered on a cohort or country specific programmes which vary from year to year. Previous thematic streams have focused on African diaspora in EU and Africa and topics like Green sectors.

What does angel investing mean? How does investing in startups work, what are the funding types and criteria available to exploit, and what are the investment stages? These among others are the questions you will get answered in our Fellowship.
Value companies to be able to determine your expected return on investment and what the company would be worth at the end of investment term
Understand how to evaluate business models and financials. Learn how to value the businesses and project future revenues
change to ” Undertake the due diligence process; formulate a due diligence scan using a pipeline company case study; prepare investment committee minutes.
Learn how to prepare or look out in deal documents like term sheets, shareholders agreements and the legal processes.
Understand deal terms and your options for investment exits. Learn how to monitor and create an exit strategy for your investment.

Anyone can become an angel investor, provided you have the ability to invest in a business both in funding and through sharing valuable professional expertise.
Yes, we encourage participants to come together and form investment groups, this way remittances can be more meaningful as the diaspora make collective savings and invest together. One business can easily raise funds from a group rather than from one investor, our member-driven special purpose vehicle allows members to make investments as a group, significantly making the investment process smooth and significantly reducing the risk on individual members.

Our Angel Investor Fellowship is made possible by our generous impact partners who cover most of the costs. However, participants are requested to make a commitment contribution to cover part of the cost before the start of the programme. Please check each programme requirement.
Interested candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Have business or professional experience
- Have a strong interest in developing skills and experience as investors
- Be dedicated to change the current funding ecosystem
- Be able to dedicate approximately 2 hours per week for eight weeks to the program
- Be ready to commit funds in first investments after the training period
